Spending planned recreational time outdoors as a family is not only a way to have fun, but a great way to build deeper relationships with each other. You will find yourself laughing, cheering each other on, and creating memories that last a life-time.

The staff at Deer Run Camps & Retreats have a passion to come alongside you to strengthen your family relationship and to provide a great time, relaxation, and adventure. So each year in April we schedule a day of recreation for homeschool families to enjoy. There are activities for all ages and all family members — from the littlest ones to the teens, mom and dad and even grandparents. It’s also a great way to experience what Deer Run Summer Camps and Family Camps are like!

This year the annual Homeschool Family Day Camp takes place on Friday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost of $12 per person — age 4 and under are free — includes a wide variety of choices: archery, BB guns, fishing tutorial plus catch & release bank fishing, wagon ride, 45 ft-climbing tower, organized wiffle ball game, family mega relay race, crafts, creek splashin', playground, self-guided hiking, gaga ball, carpetball, cornhole, sand volleyball, hover ball, nine-square-in-the-air, and a preschool play area.

Bring a picnic lunch along with a tablecloth, blanket and/or chairs for your family to enjoy on the 100 wooded acres of property. Relax in the shade beside the creek, on the sand beach at the lake, or at any of the available pavilions and picnic areas on site.

Advance online registration is highly recommended to expedite your check-in and to reserve your space for the following recreation options which are available for older kids, grade 3 and up, and for parents!

  • Zip Line Adventures, $25 per person: Soar like an eagle from peak to peak across the camp and back on the twin 800 feet zip lines!
