Is the weather outside frightful? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered (no pun intended!) with these 3 ideas for indoor activities in Murfreesboro with kids:
Location: Discovery Center at Murfree Spring
502 SE Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130 Phone: (615) 890-2300
Cost: $8.00; Children under 2: FREE
Hours: Monday thru Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday 1 – 5 p.m.
Why my kids like it: There are so many exhibits that the kids can get their hands on (and in!). They especially LOVE the huge two-story slide and water play area. Not to mention, when the weather is agreeable, there is a sweet play area and boardwalk system for them to run around on.
Why I like it: The center is very open and easy to navigate. The elevators are close to all of the exhibits and the staff are excellent at making sure the children are safe. If parents go with other parents, there are places to sit and chat while still being able to watch the kiddos. If you get a membership, you can use it at other reciprocal museums that are in other towns!
Location: Jumpstreet
1952 Old Fort Pkwy #6, Murfreesboro, TN 37129
Cost: $24.99 for ALL DAY; Check here for other specific prices.
Hours: Sunday: 10am - 9pm
Monday: 10am - 9pm
Tuesday: 10am - 6pm
Closing Early on New Year's Eve
Wednesday: 10am - 9pm
Thursday: 10am - 9pm
Friday: 10am - 10pm
Saturday: 10am - 10pm
Why my kids like it: Since my kids are different ages, its sometimes difficult to find fun places for us to go as a family. All of my kids (except for the little guy who isn’t mobile yet) were able to jump here and had a blast “jumping” in on the fun! 😉 There is an area just for younger kids who don’t meet the height requirements and the rest of the trampolines are for the older kids to play on.
Why I like it: Jumpstreet is easy to find (just off of Old Ford Parkway) and pretty straight forward with what they offer. You pay to jump. They also offer party rooms/areas for families who would like to have birthday parties and such. If you really like jumping like we do, you can earn rewards and earn free jumping times or you can go to special events that are hosted there.
Location: Patterson Park Community Center
521 Mercury Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37130
Cost: $4.00 adults; $3.00 children for a daily pass
Hours:
Monday - Friday
6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Saturday
8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday
1 - 5 p.m.
Why my kids like it: There is room for so many activities! No really… my kids couldn’t believe that every time we walked down a new hall, there was something else to do. There are multiple gymnasiums, racquetball courts, a rec room for board games, billiards, and other table games, a swimming pool (with a slide, yesssss), a theater, and a mini-but-full-functioning library inside.
Why I like it: For a few bucks a day, we can enjoy unlimited fun for the whole family. Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation offer a great deal of programming for children and adults at this location (as well as a few others) such as Homeschool P.E., acting lessons, swimming lessons and more. It is centrally located to downtown and has ample parking.
