Before the “stay-at-home” order came, I regularly stopped at my Walgreens for our family’s essentials. When my family and I were out and about, we could always find a local store not far from where we were. In fact, there is a store located conveniently to my home and it is reliably stocked with the items we need. The associates in the store are always friendly, welcoming and helpful.

A few days into the COVID-19 chaos, I had stopped into a Walgreens (Old Fort Parkway – Murfreesboro) on my way home from dinner. I was on the hunt for baby formula. When I walked into the store, the cashier and the store manager were building giant towers of toilet paper rolls at the front of the store. Little did I know, they had already anticipated that it was going to become a very rare commodity in the days to come.
It’s not really any big thing that they had moved the toilet paper to the front of the store, but it was a significant gesture for those who needed it most. You see, they made it easier for patrons to get the necessary items that they needed without having to expose themselves more than they had to. They created less obstacles and a more direct route to get the items they needed and to get out. They understand that by caring for their customers, they will come back again and again, even in times of uncertainty.
It’s things like this that I have come to appreciate about Walgreens. Their pharmacy team, cashiers, managers, warehouse employees – they all care about the work that they do. And for that, we would like to say “ THANK YOU, WALGREENS!” Your work is so very much appreciated!
